NG 2.16.15
Overview
vuSmartMaps™ NG 2.16.15 introduces a new Office 365 monitoring capability along with enhancements across ITSM Integration, Network Monitoring, Browser RUM, Data Export Security, and Linux Monitoring. This release expands observability coverage, strengthens security controls, improves dashboard and data consistency, and enhances support for third-party integrations. The release also addresses key issues related to account lockout enforcement, Device Availability upgrade compatibility, and legacy alert-rule validation in packaged O11ySources.
New O11ySource
Office 365 Audit Log Monitoring
Introduced a new O11ySource for ingesting and monitoring Office 365 Audit Logs through vuSmartMaps. The O11ySource supports Office 365 Management Activity API content types including Audit.General, Audit.Exchange, Audit.SharePoint, Audit.AzureActiveDirectory, and DLP.All.
The collected audit logs are processed through the supported vuSmartMaps ingestion workflow and made available for monitoring through the associated dashboards and alert rules.

Enhancements
ITSM Third-Party Integration Credential Password Policy
Enhanced ITSM configuration to support password-policy exceptions for credentials used by third-party integrations. Password requirements for supported third-party integration credentials can now be handled separately from the existing password policy applied to internal user logins.
- CCBD-5698: Allow Password Policy Exception for Third-Party Integration Credentials (ITSM)
Fortinet Switch, Trellix, and DefensePro Device Monitoring
Enhanced device monitoring support for Fortinet Switch, Trellix, and DefensePro devices. For FortiSwitch 148F, the update adds the required device-specific OIDs for CPU and memory health and utilization information. It also adds support for displaying basic device information for Trellix and DefensePro devices.
- CCBD-5565: Add Device Health and Basic Information Support for Fortinet Switch, Trellix, and DefensePro
- NCS-2623: Request to Add Health Metrics OIDs for FortiSwitch 148F
CSV and Excel Export Formula Injection Protection
Enhanced export security by adding server-side validation and handling for CSV and spreadsheet formula injection. Formula-like values are handled safely in supported CSV and Excel exports, including event-export workflows, even when requests are made directly through backend export APIs.
- CCBD-5397: Prevent CSV/Formula Injection in Export APIs – Vulnerability Fix
Linux Monitor Filesystem Data Model and Dashboard Alignment
Aligned filesystem fields across the Alert Data Model and LinuxInsights dashboard. Relevant Alert Data Model queries, grouping, and identification fields now use the filesystem mount point consistently, improving alert-to-dashboard correlation for disk-utilization conditions.
- CCBD-5603: Linux Monitor Alert Data Model and Dashboard Using Inconsistent Filesystem Fields
- NCS-2643: Alert Data Model and Dashboard Using Inconsistent Filesystem Fields
Browser RUM v2 Monitoring and Dashboard Enhancements
Improved Browser RUM v2 data mapping, dashboard usability, correlation, and drilldown behavior. Browser and operating-system attributes now align with supported data mapping, while API-related views provide better context through correlated error count, error code, response time, request volume, impacted sessions, and browser and OS details.

Bug Fixes
Account Lockout Policy Enforcement
Corrected failed-authentication tracking so consecutive unsuccessful login attempts are counted correctly and configured account lockout thresholds are enforced.
- CCBD-5398: No Account Lockout Policy
Device Availability Upgrade Metadata
Corrected invalid timestamp schema metadata in the Device Availability session table so timestamp and partition information are processed correctly during migration. This resolves the affected upgrade path from vuSmartMaps 2.16.9 to 3.2.
- VUQA-7105: 2.16.9 to 3.2 Upgrade Fails Due to Invalid Device Availability Session Table Metadata
Packaged O11ySources Legacy Alert Script Syntax
Corrected malformed legacy evalCriteria alert scripts in packaged 2.16 O11ySources, including indentation, expression, parentheses, and missing syntax issues. The scripts now validate correctly during package migration and deployment.
- CCBD-5605: Packaged O11ySources 2.16 – Fix Syntax Errors in Legacy evalCriteria Alert Scripts
Summary
With vuSmartMaps™ NG 2.16.15, the platform continues to improve the consistency, security, and reliability of monitoring across supported environments. The release introduces broader monitoring capabilities, strengthens integration and data-handling workflows, and improves alignment across dashboards, alerts, and underlying configurations.
